 Je publierai ces choses à jamais; Je chanterai en l`honneur du Dieu de Jacob.


Meaning: A lot of people take pleasure in boasting about themselves and their success. It's because they need to make themselves feel valued. It takes a humble person to not deceive themselves into taking credit for their own accomplishments. The person who feels valued by God will boast about all that God has done for them. Everything comes into perspective as you grow in relationship with your heavenly Father. What praises are you singing to the God of Jacob?


2. Joshua 2:3
So the king of Jericho sent orders to Rahab: "Bring out the men who have come into your house, for they have come here to spy out the whole land."

Meaning: Rahab was a noble woman who put her faith in God by protecting the invading Jewish spies from her fellow King.  By the way, she was also the town prostitute.  That didn't stop her from stepping out and being courageous.  Nor did it stop God from using her in the future.  Did you know that Jesus was her descendent?  When you are challenged in your faith because of your past, take courage.  You are very valuable.

Meaning: Before going to war, it's best to understand and clearly communicate the issue at hand.  These Jewish tribes were about to go to war thinking their fellow tribes had created an altar to a false god.  It turns out, they built an altar to God as a reminder of the relationship all tribes have with God.  Fortunately, the tribes were able to talk everything through before going to war.  Do you find yourself about to go to battle?  Have you approached the situation trying to understand the actions of everyone involved?

Meaning: How does it feel to complete a project, assignment, or case?  That sense of accomplishment and productivity is very inspiring.  Yet, if we find ourselves in the middle of an overwhelming project, it's easy to drop it and move on to an easier task.  However, lots of loose ends result and nothing ever gets finished.  If you find yourself discouraged and about to give up on your work, try focusing on the satisfaction of accomplishment when you are finished.  This will give you the endurance you need to complete.

Meaning: Have you used your hands to create lately?  There's no feeling in the world like being able to create something with your own hands. We were created in the image of God who is the ultimate Creator.  If it's been a while since you have created something, think about what you can create.  Spend some time creating and you will find a closer connection to the Creator.

1. Joel 2:25
I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer.

Je vous remplacerai les années Qu`ont dévorées la sauterelle, Le jélek, le hasil et le gazam, Ma grande armée que j`avais envoyée contre vous.


Meaning: There are times when we lose things that are impossible to restore on a human level. Sometimes, we miss certain opportunities and we lose hope because we believe we may never have those opportunities again.
Although no man may be able to restore the opportunities and the time you have lost, God can restore them. He is not limited by time. When He says He will do a thing, the time of the world cannot stop Him. Even if it means suspending time to bring it to pass, God is able to do it.
Don’t lose sleep over that deadline that has passed or that job offer that you could not apply for. Our God is a God of the second chance. He can give you another opportunity. What He will bring for you will be better than what you lost.

Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.

Meaning: You need to have faith in God for miracles to happen in your life. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him. God wants you to come to Him and approach Him in faith. He wants you to believe His word. There is no point saying you are His child if you don’t believe that He will make all things possible for you. Never write a problem off as being too hard for God to handle. All things are possible for Him. Don’t focus on how bleak the situation looks. Focus on the greatness of God instead. Nothing is too hard for Him to do. Believe in the power of God to do all things. He can change your story. He can turn that bad situation around. You just need to believe. Your faith will activate great miracles and make the impossible possible.

Jairus was a man who believed so much in the power of Jesus to the extent that he went against the opinions of the religious leaders of the day and asked Jesus to heal his daughter. Even though the girl was in coma, he had faith that Jesus could heal her and she was healed. Just like Jairus, you too can believe God for any situation that seems hopeless. God loves people who believe in Him. The deadness of that situation cannot stop the power of God because nothing is impossible for Him to.

That is why the local church is important. Just a simple act of inviting somebody to church is a significant contribution towards the expansion of God’s kingdom in evangelism. A church that is constantly and consistently evangelizing will continually increase and expand.

If all there is to our Gospel is financial blessings, then when your breakthrough comes, you will not need Jesus anymore and then you won’t go to church anymore. There is more to Christianity than being blessed. It is primarily about coming to trust in God through Christ Jesus as our Saviour and being committed to the service of bringing other people into the body.

1. 2 Timothy 2:2
You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.

2 Timothée, 2:2
 Et ce que tu as entendu de moi en présence de beaucoup de témoins, confie-le à des hommes fidèles, qui soient capables de l`enseigner aussi à d`autres.


Meaning: Mentoring and discipling doesn't mean we have to have our life together in order to take part in the mentoring. It's coming alongside someone and sharing a little bit of our wisdom gained over the years. Quite possibly, just our presence alone of consistent connection builds up another and keeps our spirits high through the difficult times. Is there someone in your life that you are consistently pouring into and passing along these truths? Is God calling you to step out and mentor?


2. 2 Corinthians 12:8-9
Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work
through me.

Meaning: Is it a struggle by the end of the day to keep on going? Have life's circumstances pulled you into survival mode? Perhaps you have health issues that keep you holding on to life day by day. These trials did not happen without a purpose. Loved ones are learning from you and making changes. When you have a hard time seeing the positives of your struggles, remember this, God works best when you are weak. His grace is all you need.


3. Psalm 75:9
But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

Meaning: A lot of people take pleasure in boasting about themselves and their success. It's because they need to make themselves feel valued. It takes a humble person to not deceive themselves into taking credit for their own accomplishments. The person who feels valued by God will boast about all that God has done for them. Everything comes into perspective as you grow in relationship with your heavenly Father. What praises are you singing to the God of Jacob?

Meaning: One of the greatest ways we can honor God is by giving Him the first and best of what we receive. He doesn't need your money, but rather it is a respectful way of acknowledging that God is Lord over your finances. A lot of our choices are driven by money and if we don't make God a priority in our financial life, we can't fully experience all of God. Dedicate a portion of your next paycheck to God first above other expenses.

We could be surrounded by the smartest people in the world, but if our mind and heart aren't open to growing and maturing, then we can't improve. Having a teachable heart allows us to serve others and give respect to those who have gone before us. When someone older and wiser extends advice and suggestions to you, how do you respond? If you find yourself stiffening at advice, take a moment to encourage growing a teachable heart in you.

FRIDAY 20TH MAY, 2016 DEVOTIONAL LIFE MEANING TO SCRIPTURES BY APOSTLE PAUL JOHNSON ASAMOAH


1. Roman 8:5
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.

Ceux, en effet, qui vivent selon la chair, s`affectionnent aux choses de la chair, tandis que ceux qui vivent selon l`esprit s`affectionnent aux choses de l`esprit.


Meaning: Our thoughts have a great impact on us.  Our thoughts are what impact our words and actions.  When your mind is not in a good place you can be hurtful in words and deeds.  Yet often our mind gets burdened by anxiety, despair, and fear.  If you notice the circular thoughts, stop them by changing the direction of your thoughts.  Don't allow your mind to be dominated!  Focus on ways you can show mercy to others or what you can say to respond with a gentle tone.  Focus on things that please the Spirit.


2. Psalm 103:13
The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

Meaning: Sometimes it can be difficult to think of the Lord in terms of a father.  Our earthly, albeit human, father may not have loved us the way we feel loved or even abandoned us altogether.  There can be a gap left between what was modeled by our earthly father and how our heavenly Father loves us.  Yet we know God is tender and compassionate.  We must find it in our hearts to forgive our father so that we may fully experience the love of our Father.  Pray your heavenly Father will help you uncover and release any roots of anger or bitterness as you walk in relationship with Him.

Meaning: This proverb is filled with valuable wisdom and can be applied with the struggles of parenting a teenager.  Students who have time on their hands often find themselves getting into trouble.  Implementing a physical routine such as playing football,  working a job requiring physical labor and is good experience for them.  It trains a teenager to be disciplined, focused on time management, and works out their extra energy.  It's a rough road walking alongside and parenting a teen, but this wisdom is practical when applied.
